My Journey into IT: From Web Pages to Service Desk

I’ve always been fascinated by how things work. When I first opened a text editor and wrote my first <h1>Hello World!</h1>, I had no idea it would start a journey that would lead me into enterprise IT.

First Steps with Web

It started simply — as a social media and web manager for Bar Aventin, I learned the basics of HTML, CSS, and gradually JavaScript. Each new skill opened doors to the next. Simple pages evolved into more complex projects.

Studying Informatics

At VŠB-TUO, I studied Informatics in Economics, where I understood how crucial the connection between technology and business is. My bachelor’s thesis on Database Application Design gave me a solid foundation in SQL and systems thinking.

Moving to Infrastructure

Over time, I discovered that I’m more interested in what happens under the hood — how systems run, how user identities are managed, and how incidents are resolved in real time. This led me to focus on IT Service Management.

ServiceNow and ITIL

Today I work as a Service Desk Specialist at Vivicta, where every day I handle incidents and requests in ServiceNow, manage users in Active Directory and Entra ID, and learn how enterprise IT works in practice.

What’s Next?

I’m currently pursuing the Google Cybersecurity certification and practical training on TryHackMe. Security is the next logical step in my career.
